Perspective, Relationships and ??

Wednesday, 22 February 2012   |   Creative Thinking

Creative MastermindSo this week I decided to break down creativity again.  I like breaking things down into abstract ideas as it gives you a deeper understanding of the topic and also offers a great starting point for some healthy discussion.  I have come to the conclusion that perspectives and relationships are what drives creative thinking.  It's a generally accepted rule, however, that things always occur in 3's.  What is the third pillar of creativity?

I know you're eager to have that question answered but let's take a step back and look at what we've already got.

Perspectives are important.  Anything can be looked at from many angles.  Often it's the unobvious angles that provide the most valuable insights.

And then there are these relationships.  Everything affects everything else and everything else affects this, either directly or indirectly.  Identifying and taking advantage of these, or creating entirely new relationships turn your insights into useful creations.

It cannot end here though.  Things like to happen in 3's so there must be a third pillar in this model of creative thinking.  I'm going to open this up to discussion.  What do you think the third pillar should be?

You're on your way to becoming a Highly Creative Person.
